Summary: Precast Asphalt Concrete Parts (PPCA) are known around the world for the advantages of flexible handling, storage and simplified application over conventional asphalt pavement. Due to its limited research, the mechanical characteristics of the PPCA were evaluated in comparison to the conventional asphalt pavement. The objective of this project was to develop a method of manufacturing the PPCA through hydraulic press kneading and the evaluation of its mechanical and volumetric characteristics in relation to the asphalt pavement. as well as PPCAs developed around the world. The research contents include the blending project through the marshall methodology that was used as a reference parameter for the development of PPCAs. Asphalt mixtures with CAP 50/70, 100% natural aggregates and mixtures with 25% LD melt slag in their compositions were evaluated. The volumetric parameters of the PPCA presented an increase in relation to those obtained both in the marshall molding methodology and in the pieces with the addition of slag LD. Direct shear tests were performed in order to obtain the shear stress on the contact of the PPCA with the base and on the contact between the parts themselves for comparison with the pullout test. Mechanical tests were performed on PPCA for comparison purposes showing good stability and tensile strength indicating the application of PPCA as a viable technology in obtaining modular flooring.
